  • Forest Hills Private School & Retreat Center operates as a private learning pod / micro-school and is not a licensed private school under the Ministry of Education.

  • Yes. Families will register their children for the same day or days that they wish to attend each week. Registration will be by term and the selection of days can be renewed for Term 2.

  • When signing the parent agreement, families agree to a commitment per term. Term 1 will be from September to February, and Term 2 will be from March to June. In March, families may wish to change their schedule as needed. Families will receive an “Agreement Renewal” email in January to confirm their selection for Term 2.

  • As children spend most of their days outdoors, weather appropriate clothing and extra dry clothes are a must!

    Seasonal clothes that we suggest:

    Spring & Fall: hip-waders or tall boots and splash pants, with layers that can be taken off if needed.

    Winter: a warm base layer, snowsuit, neck-warmer, hat, multiple pairs of mitts, layered socks and warm boots.

  • At this time, families are required to bring refillable water bottles and a healthy, packed lunch.

    There will be opportunities for children to learn and work in the kitchen to make delicious foods! From time to time, they will also be able to enjoy these foods!

  • There is a 1:5 guide to child ratio for children in the toddler program (ages 2.5 years - 3 years)

    There is a 1:8 guide to child ratio for children in the school-aged program (ages 3 years 8 mths - 12 years)

    • Volunteers who hold valid Vulnerable Sector Checks will also help to improve these ratios! :)
